How do I choose a luxury swimsuit?
A luxury swimsuit starts with its fabric: a dense, opaque, sculpting knit that keeps its shape season after season. Then come the cut and the finish: full lining, neat seams and clean lines that flatter the figure without artifice. At BAIE BRUNE, all our fabrics are French or Italian, and every piece is made in France or Portugal.
Where do BAIE BRUNE fabrics come from, and where are the swimsuits made?
All our fabrics are French or Italian: our matte solid is knitted in Lyon and our chevron jacquard knit comes from Italy. Our pieces are made in France or Portugal.
What is chevron jacquard knit?
It is an Italian knit whose multicolour zigzag pattern is knitted directly into the yarn rather than printed. Soft, lightweight and crease-resistant, it shapes our Riviera-inspired beach wardrobe: bikinis, dresses, trousers, shorts, tops and kimonos, in twelve colourways.
What is the difference between jacquard and print?
With a print, the pattern is applied to the surface of the fabric. With a jacquard, it is built during knitting using yarns of different colours: the design shows on both sides, keeps its brightness wash after wash, and gives the knit texture and structure.
What is the BAIE BRUNE matte solid?
It is our signature fabric: a thick, sculpting matte knit made in Lyon. It gently shapes, has no shine and suits every body type. It comes in 14 colours across our minimalist one-pieces and bikinis.
Which size should I choose?
Our swimsuits run from French size 36 to 44 and our beachwear from XS to L. See our size guide, with UK and US equivalents. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship within France, across Europe, to the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Asia, the Middle East and Oceania. Any order placed before 1 pm (Paris time) on a business day ships the same day. Delivery is free on orders over €300 in France and from €350 internationally; below that, shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your country.
Can I exchange or return an item?
You have 14 days from delivery. In metropolitan France, one size exchange per order is free. For a return with a refund, return shipping is at your expense. Full conditions are on our Shipping & returns page and in our terms and conditions of sale.
How do I care for my swimsuit?
Rinse it in clean water after every swim, without leaving it to soak. Hand wash, or machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle with a mild detergent, then dry it in the shade. This preserves the colour and stretch of the knit.
